Sudan and USA Ready to Launch Second Phase of  Dialogue

Khartoum, Nov.8 (SUNA) - Sudan has welcomed launching of the second phase of strategic dialogue with  the United States which is was set  to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation and achieve further progress in a number of fields of mutual concern, especially after success of the first  phase which was culminated in the lifting of sanctions against  Sudan.

It is to be noted that Foreign Minister, Dr Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, has met with the US Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan, within context of  his current visit  to Washington.

The Foreign Ministry's Spokesman, Ambassador Babiker Al-Siddiq, said the two sides have agreed on launching the second phase of the strategic  cooperation between the two countries which would lead to removing the name of Sudan from list of states sponsoring terrorism.

He said that Sudan welcomes the US announcement that it is ready to engage in stage of removing Sudan from its list of states sponsoring terrorism  and to foster the relations  and cooperation between the two countries, stressing that Sudan readiness to engage in tracks of the second phase for reaching the aspired  goals.
