The white Nile Sugar Factory .... improvement in fields social services and achieving the sustainable development in the region

Khartoum-12-7-2012-(SUNA)- The dream became reality when the Administration of the White Nile Sugar Factory managed to transformed the idea to a complementary factory , which produce the sugar and has an associated strategic projects and industries include the project of producing the Ethanol. Besides the administration of the factory succeeded in cooperating with the state government and the concerned bodies to create a bridge of partnership with the citizens in the region through paying the compensations, setting up the project of the farmers and providing the necessary services of water, health, education and roads and to find jobs the people of the region. SUNA interviewed the Chief administrative officer and the responsible for the department of compensations and sustainable development in the project, Dr. Fatah Al-rahman Al-tinay on the factory 's achievements in the social fields and to focus on their plans in future. BF Q: What you say on the project of White Nile Sugar? A: It is the biggest integrated agro-industrial project not only in level of the middle east and Africa but in all world thus it should have great social and economic results in the region. Q: what about the social plans and the sustainable development in the last period? A: The projects of sustainable development concentrated on many sides include the compensations , the project of farmers, the necessary services and the employing. Q: Who are the benefiting sectors ? and how many people who profit from the compensations? A: We managed to resettle about 28 villages and about 8.000 families were resettled in 7 housing camps , that included a 13 basic schools for boys and girls, 9 secondary schools and 7 medical stations. Addition to 17 ground water wells and a water net of 200 Km. These services are providing to the resettled people in the housing camps.. Q: What about the neighbouring villages? A: we had provided also many services to the neighbouring villages included establishing schools to about 39 villages, building mosques to 7 villages and water nets to 7 villages addition to services of roads and the earthmoving. Now , we achieved a remarkable movement in these societies . as water is providing in all houses and the girls are going to school instead of bring water from far distances addition the health and education services are available to all people. Q: Are you make prior studies to the target societies before carrying out these projects? A: Yes of' course there are prior social studies to establish any project include all villages. It was very important due it disclosed on high rank of illiteracy among the boys and girls , where there are no secondary schools and there are no mosques in a good -established buildings. Addition the studies pointed that only the traditional agriculture and pasturing are the kinds of work. Q: How you benefited from the former projects in the current projects? . A: We knew the importance of providing a sustainable source of income to every citizen and for that we accomplish the project of farmers , which included a big area divided to the north and south parts. The area irrigate free all year round and possessed by the farmers. These project is a model to the strategic partnership between the factory administration and the farmers, while they entered in the period of production. Q: What is the main crop in the project? A: it is the sunflower . now we seek for a long- term strategy between the project of farmers and the factory may reach to common- cultivating in field of sugarcane , the food manufacturing for animal fodder and all other fields of economic development in the region. Q: What is the kind of relation between the factory and the farmer? Is there any consisting committee? A: We work together under the umbrella of the high committee of compensations headed by the minister of agriculture in the state . It is a popular-governmental mission, in which the people participate through delegates and have authorized to solve all impediments , that face the farmers or the factory in all fields. On conclusion, the Chief administrative officer and the responsible for the department of compensations and sustainable development in the project Dr. Fatah Al-rahman Al-tinay reasserted that if we success in establishing another 10 factories we be able to export large quantities of sugar what will contribute strongly to bring hard currency the general treasury and to compensate the loss of oil revenues and it Will be the base of the economy does not depend on oil
