Auditor General Chamber signs MoU with its Saudi Counterpart

Khartoum, Jan. 23 (SUNA) – A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Wednesday between the National Auditor General Chamber and General Supervision Bureau in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on exchange of expertise and cooperation in the field of supervision and accounting.

The Auditor General of the Republic of Sudan Attahir Abdul-Qayum explained that the MoU came in line with the United Nations resolutions, which encourage the UN-member states to establish independent supervisory bodies on the supervision of the public money and realization of transparency as well as purity in public finance management. He referred to the joint understanding between the Auditor General Chamber and its Saudi counterpart to consolidate cooperation in the field of supervision by benefiting from the experiences of both sides.

For his part, the Chairman of the Saudi General Supervision Bureau Husam bin Abdul-Mohsin said that the MoU came within the framework of the distinguished relations between Riyadh and Khartoum, revealing that the memo is on the provision of advisory services, exchange of experiences and the holding of training sessions to enable the staff of the two institutions to build their capacities in the both supervisory and accounting domains.
