Meetings of Sudanese - South Korean Political Consultation Committee Held

Khartoum, April 12 (SUNA) - The joint high-level political consultation committee between Sudan and the Republic of Korea Thursday held its seventh session at the premises of the Korean Foreign Ministry. The Sudanese side at the meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Abdul-Ghani Al-Naeem, and included the Director of Asia Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Abdul-Wahab Hijazi, Sudan Ambassador to South Korea, Mohamed Abdul-Al Haroun, Deputy Head of Sudan mission to South Korea, Ambassador Al-Rayah Haidob, the Plenipotentiary, Mohamed Al-Dhai, and the Advisor at Asia Affairs Department, Bukhari Habilalla. The Korean side was chaired by the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and a number of senior officials at the ministry. The two sides have deliberated about important issues in the agenda toward bolstering the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two foreign ministries, enhancing the coordination and the exchange of experiences between the Sudanese political, economic and trade institutions, boosting the coordination between the Sudanese and South Korean universities and scientific research institutes and the signing of agreements and memos of understanding. The two sides have reached mutual understanding on the signing of technical aid agreement and two memos of understanding in the fields of higher education and scientific research, a memo of understanding on training between Center of Diplomatic Center and the Korean National Diplomatic Academy. The Sudanese and Korean sides have agreed on holding joint economic forums to maximize benefiting from the available economic potentialities in the two countries, paving the way for investment in Sudan, attracting the Korean companies to operate in Sudan. The two parties agreed on boosting the cooperation between Sudan and the Republic of Korea at the international forums, the coordination between the diplomatic missions of the two countries. The Ambassador of Sudan to South Korea, Mohamed Abdul-Al, has referred to meetings that the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry has held on the sidelines of the meetings of the joint high-level political consultation committee with the Korean International Cooperation Agency, the Korean Investment Agency and the Korean National Diplomatic Academy. He said that the Sudanese - Korean relations would witness more progress and cooperation in the coming period at the economic, trade, education and the transfer of technology fields. MO
