Review meeting between Sudan and UNICEF held

Khartoum, September 5 (SUNA) - The Minister of International Cooperation, Idris Sulaiman has praised the continuous support that UNICEF has been providing over the past years in supporting children's issues and comprehensive development in Sudan. Addressing the half-year review meeting between Sudan and UNICEF Wednesday at the Ministry of Information Hall, the Minister expressed his appreciation to the government counterparts and program partners for the great role in the implementation of national programs agreed upon at federal and state levels.  Sulaiman stressed Sudan commitment to provide the necessary resources for the local component and to provide the effective support and coordination to meet the requirements of the country program 2018-2021, hoping that UNICEF to continue provision of financial and technical support to enhance national capacities and create new opportunities to support children's issues and development, calling for focusing on the future vision during the remaining period in accordance with the objectives of the national strategy of the state and to achieve the goals of sustainable development.  The minister added that the meeting aimed to assess and evaluate the course of implementation of these programs to identify obstacles and address them. For his part, the UNICEF Resident Representative in Khartoum Abdulla Fadil stressed UNICEF cooperation with Sudan to achieve Sudan's national priorities by focusing on development, referring to the achievements made in various fields.
