DUP Demands Removal of Sudan from List of Terrorism

Khartoum, July 10 (SUNA) The Leaderships’ Council of the  Democratic Unionist  Party (DUP) has maintained the need to remove the Sudan’s name from the list of states sponsor of terrorism.

The Chairman of the Council Dr. Hassan Abdul-Gader Hilal met , Wednsday, at his office with Dr. Mesha’al al-Salami, the chairman of the Arab Parliament, who is currently visiting the country, noted that the Arab Parliament plays an important role in the next phase in Sudan.

The Deputy Chairman of the Political Committee of the Party, Mohammad Yousif al-Degair explained during the meeting the role of the UDP in the history of the national movement, pointing out that the sanctions imposed on Sudan have their effect on the citizens in the first place and not the former regime, indicating that Khartoum remained the heart of the Arab world and its gate to Africa.

He reminded the members of the visiting delegation with the position of Khartoum in the year of 67 conference, its reception to the defeated president of Egypt Abdel Nasser as a hero, and the reconciliation with King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.

On his part, the chairman of the Arab Parliament, Mesha’al al-Salami said that Sudan is one of the most important Arab countries because of its contribution to the Arab arena, calling for the importance of reconciliation of all the political forces without exclusion of any party, demanding the agreement of all the Sudanese political forces in order to surpass this stage.

He unveiled a plan drafted by the Arab parliament and with a significant contribution to the removal of Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
