Ibrahim Mahmoud Affirms Government Commitment to Participate in Coming Negotiations with SPLM (North Sector)

Khartoum, Jan. 21 (SUNA)- Assistant of the President of the Republic, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, has affirmed the government commitment to continuing the dialogue and negotiation with the SPLM (North Sector) in the first week of next February in Addis Ababa. During his meeting Sunday at the Republican Palace with the British envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, Christopher Trott, Engineer Mahmoud affirmed that Sudan is open to reach a solution for the issue of the two areas toward boosting the peace process, stressing the importance of cease-fire, delivery of humanitarian aid according to the road-map and direct engagement in the security arrangements. Meanwhile, the Director of Europe Administration at the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Khalid Musa, said that the Assistant of the President has affirmed Sudan commitment to the road-map, its former commitments and resuming the negotiation from where it has ended. He indicated that the meeting has discussed the peace process in Sudan in addition to the current developments in Sudan in a manner that supports the peace process, Ambassador Musa said that the British envoy has affirmed the keenness of his country to urge aims for supporting the peace process and the African Union's High-Level Panel for Sudan and encouraging the parties to make a success the peace negotiations session, scheduled in next February.
