Foreign Ministry Welcomes Baldwin Visit to Sudan

Khartoum, August 6 (SUNA) – Foreign  Ministry issued a statement on visit of Minister of State for Africa at the British Foreign Affairs Ministry, Harriett Baldwin, which will start Tuesday and last for three days .


The visit comes within  framework of strengthening  of bilateral relations and deepening  cooperation between  the two countries, the statement stated.



It said  the  Ministry appreciates progress of bilateral relations and  development aid and technical assistance provided by  Britain  to Sudan in different fields.


 During the visit ,  the statement  said, Baldwin  will meet  the  First Vice-President and National Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, Vice-President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman.  and   Assistant of the President of the Republic, Dr  Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, besides holding joint talks  at premises a of  Foreign Ministry to  headed by Foreign  Minister, Dr. Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed for the Sudanese side and the Minister of State for Africa at the British Foreign Affairs Ministry, Harriett Baldwin,  for British side  to discuss horizons of cooperation  bilateral relations   and the ways of boosting them in addition to regional and international and  political developments.


The talks will also discuss a host of issues within bilateral and multiparty  framework.


Baldwin will be  breifed  on Sudan efforts on  realizing peace and security internally  and regionally.


The visit program will  include North Darfur state where  the Britsih Minister  will be briefed by the officials on the developments of security and humanitarian situations as wellas  visiting  number of developmental projects being implemented by  the Britain agencies.

Baldwin will conclude  visit to Sudan  on Thursday evening.
