Wali of Northern State Renews Sudan Commitment to Human Rights

 Dongola, Oct.10(SUNA)- Wali(governor) of Northern State, Yasser Yousif  addressed the closing session of Refuge and Human Trafficking Laws  Workshop in Dongola which was organized  by UNHCR, Refugees Commission and International  Organization of Migration(IOM).

 

The Wali renewed  Sudan commitment  to laws  and international  conventions on human rights and migrants  according to lofty teachings  of Islamic religion  and values  and norms of Sudanese people.

 

 He hailed   the recent resolutions of the Geneva-based  UN Human Rights Council that ended term of  mandate of independent expert.

 Governor of Northern State  indicated to state concern with combating the human trafficking , adding that Northern State has received  large numbers of migrants  from  neighboring countries  and now they are living amidst people of the State and enjoying full services.

 

 Minister of Social Affairs  in Northern State,  Dr Saeed Mohamed Khalil who is also the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Combating Human Trafficking  and Illegal Migration  in the State  underscored  the Committee’s continued efforts  in  coordination with a number of  corporations and organizations operating in this field  to  fight  human trafficking and illegal migration.

 

 He underlined commitment to  Islamic and humanitarian principles  in dealing with  human rights.
