Minister of Trade discusses with his Egyptian counterpart trade relations and ways to develop them

Khartoum, Dec. 7 (SUNA) - The Minister of Trade Hatim Al-Sir discussed Thursday with the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Tariq Gabeil the fields of joint cooperation between Sudan and Egypt in the economic and commercial sectors.
"The issue of activating and developing trade relations and increasing the volume of trade exchange with Egypt occupies an advanced position among the highest political leadership in Sudan," Al-Sir said in a press release.
The minister stressed to his Egyptian counterpart that the Sudanese Prime Minister has given directives on speeding up the work to reach understandings with the brothers in Egypt restoring the trade relations between the two countries to their normal situation and increasing the volume of trade cooperation as to make it a model to be followed.
The Minister of Commerce said that his meeting with the Egyptian minister, in the presence of the Sudanese Ambassador to Cairo Abdel-Mahmood Abdel-Halim and the Egyptian Ambassador to Khartoum Osama Shaltut, reviewed several issues related to the economic and trade relations. He added that it was agreed to hold technical meetings at the expert level to be followed by the meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commercial Committee between the two countries to announce the trade and economic agreement besides addressing all the outstanding issues to achieve the joint interests and mutual benefits between Sudan and Egypt.
For his part, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry stressed his country's keenness to activate and implement the trade agreements concluded with Sudan and impulse the cooperation between the two countries to the maximum extent at the level equals to the size of the strong relations between Egypt and Sudan.
The Egyptian minister expressed a strong desire for coordination and development of trade relations, calling for efforts intensification to remove any obstacles facing the progress of trade cooperation between the two countries.
