Khartoum, 3 Jan. (SUNA)- Animal Wealth Minister, Bushara Jumaa Arou, has stressed that the current fiscal year 2018 will be devoted to animal wealth development in the country, closely coordinating and exchanging views with the states to increase production and productivity.
The Minister who was on visit to North Kordufan State said it was high time for the states and the center to coordinate efforts and work together for upgrading the animal sector so as to meet the international demand on Sudan's naturally fed, disease-free livestock.
The Minister held a meeting with the governor of North Kordufan state, Ahmed Mohamed Haroon who underlined that his state host 22.4% of the total animal wealth in the country.
He said plans are underway to erect an export center in North Kordufan state
The governor told the meeting that for a sustainable development in the animal wealth, the private and public sectors have to work jointly to this end. He said the recently inaugurated western Sudan highway would help facilitate export of animal wealth from the state to the various ports.
