Rome, 7 Jan (SUNA) - The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour on Wednesday received representatives of Italian industry and agencies businessmen to brief them on economic and investment opportunities in the Sudan.
The Minister briefed the Italian businessmen about the current political and economic developments in the country pointing to the resources Sudan enjoys and the incentives the country offers for investors and the possibly of entering new African and regional market upon investing in the Sudan.
The minister also briefed them on the positive aspects brought the revocation of the American economic sanctions which used to obstruct economic and investment in the country, saying all obstacles frustrating investment in the country have now been removed by the removal of the sanctions.
He referred to the many companies that came into the country following this development
The minister then responded to questions and queries raised by the Italian businessmen which covered the field of communication, energy, construction and transformational and agricultural industries
It is to be noted that many of these companies participated in the Khartoum Fair describing it as an excellent opportunity.
The minister has invited those companies to visit the Sudan and probe opportunities of investment and examine the climate of investment in the various domains.
