Khartoum, Feb.26(SUNA)-The sessions of the three-day Workshop on Sudan-Ethiopia Strategic Relations commenced Monday at the Military Intelligence Institute.
The Workshop will discuss a number of working papers.
Deputy Chief of Joint Staff, Lt. Gen. Yahya Mohamed Khair who addressed the opening sitting said the workshop convene amid regional and international conditions beset Sudan and Ethiopia, referring to the historic and strong bonds that link the two countries.
He said keeping contact between Armies of the two countries played significant role in cementing the political, economic, social and cultural ties.
Lt. Gen. Khair hoped that Workshop would come out with recommendations helping the decision-makers in the two countries .
Head of The Ethiopian delegation, Gen. Mohamed Adam, for his part, indicated to vital and historic relations between Sudan and Ethiopia, stressing the two countries concern with boosting security and stability in Africa and the World as a whole.
He said Ethiopia is committed to achievement of peace and stability in the region as well as consolidation of relations with Sudan , adding that menaces facing the two countries should be debated.
It is to be noted that the Workshop discussed during today sitting a working paper about economic integration between countries of Horn of Africa and its effect on Sudan and Ethiopia.
