Mechanism of people of Nuba mountains affirms continuity of negotiations and consultations to realize lasting peace

Khartoum ,August 8(SUNA )- The Mechanism of the People of Nuba Mountains has affirmed importance of the ongoing negotiations and consultations to realize a lasting peace in South Kordofan State and to extend more opportunities for contribution to resolving the problems of the region.

The chairman of the mechanism, Salah Biraima, has said in a press conference held Wednesday at Sudanese Media Center (SMC) that the memo on aid access to the Blue Nile and South Kordofan States, which was signed by Sudan and South Sudan recently in Addis Ababa, has expressed fully the desire of the National Congress to reach solutions via cooperation with all parties.

He noted that the memo that was presented in Addis Ababa by the Northern sector of the SPLM did not reflect the aspirations of the people of the Blue Nile and South Kordofan States,calling for the participations of the Nuba people in South Kordofan State in the negotiations to play a key role for development and progress in the area.
The assistant chairman of the mechanism, Dr. Ali Al-Shayeb, has affirmed the necessity of participation of the Nuba people in the negotiations and maintaining of the social co-existence, security and stability of the country.

The Secretary of the Women General Secretariat at the mechanism, Asma Gibril, said that the key objectives of the mechanism is to reactivate the political move and exchanging the political experiences of the people of the state as well as focusing on the role of women in the political activities to reach solutions and contributing in resolving the problems of the region.
