Libya seeks extradition of fugitive ex-govt officials

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libyan government spokesman Nasser Al-Mana said the authorities had reached out to a number of foreign countries to discuss the modality for the extradition of some 68 people from the former regime wanted by the Libyan courts.

He also said that contacts had been established with the International Criminal Court (ICC) to help Libyan authorities arrest the fugitives and bring them to justice.

"Efforts continue to be made to get them and bring them to justice," he said Wednesday during his weekly press conference in Tripoli as he reiterated willingness and determination of the authorities to restore justice in the country.

In this regard, he noted the ongoing work to restore judicial infrastructures, prisons and police stations destroyed during the revolution in Libya.
