Taha calls for change of social conduct for addressing the country's economic conditions


Khartoum, June 21 (SUNA) - The First Vice President of the Republic Ali Osman Mohamed Taha underlined in his address to the National Assembly Thursday importance of implementing the policies and procedures contained in the address of the President of the Republic.
He criticized the social conduct of the Sudanese citizens which maximizes consumption and minimizes production and not take care to the difference between income and consumption.
Taha attributed the low down of production to the both government and citizen by not following the literature of savings and the policy of the extended family, urging adoption of an enlightenment socio-economic policy and following of a certain approach for economic reform, describing the package of the measures as of political and economic aspects.
He pointed out to the high rates of smuggling, saying that we are all partners in the national and legal responsibility.
The first Vice President revealed that the government has reduced the constitutional posts at the state level from 572 to 318, expecting formation of new government during few days with reduction of 45% of its structure.
He admitted that the government economic policies have been accompanied by errors such as opening the door widely open before imports.
Taha expressed security justifications before the Parliament on why the fuel prices raised at service stations before the approval of the National Assembly due to security information that the traders embarked on fuel storage to benefit from price difference when the new price is announced, adding that all the distortions will be removed.
