DRA denies disappearance of its new vehicles in Darfur states
Khartoum ,August 6(SUNA)- The Minster of Information, Culture and Tourism and spokesman of Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Madibo, has denied the disappearance of new vehicles of the DRA, stressing that the DRA has adopted a package of procedure and precautions to ensure the safe movement of its vehicles inside towns in Darfur states.
The spokesman of DRA has said in a statement to SUNA that the DRA has prevented movement of its vehicles in the night in order to avoid looting, confirming the existence of guards on all its vehicles in Darfur region.
Madibo has attributed the presence of the DRA leaders in Khartoum in the last period to their participation in meetings with federal government to discuss establishment of the DRA organs that were not yet completed.
He has expressed regret of the DRA over the recent incidents that occurred in Kutum Locality, North Darfur State, in which the Commissioner of Al-Waha Locality was killed last week, saying the committing of incidents like these will have many negative impacts and the social and economic programs and plans of the DRA for realizing development and peace in the region, particularly the projects of the voluntary return of the displaced persons and refugees to their villages in Darfur states.
The spokesman of the DRA said that the Authority has sent a delegation headed by the Assistant Chairman of the DRA,Yasin Ibrahim, to get acquainted on the general situation and to ease the tension between parties and to inspect conditions of the displaced persons at Kassab camp.
He has announced that a high-level delegation of the DRA will visit Kutum Locality for the same purpose .
It is to be noted that the government of North Darfur State has formed two fact-finding committees to investigate in the killing of the Commissioner of Al-Waha Locality.
