PM: Political support for implementation of electronic payment matrix

Khartoum, Dec. 27 (SUNA) - The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning and Chairman of the National Payments Council Mutaz Musa has affirmed the provision of political support from the highest levels of the country for the adoption of a plan to implement the electronic payment activation matrix. The Prime Minister pointed out, during his chairmanship the meeting of the National Payments Council on Thursday at the Ministry of Finance, to the issuance of a decision to authorize the electronic payment matrix and the emphasis on the application of electronic payment systems for all government services and factories, urging private sector companies to develop applications and systems that accept electronic payment as well as spread of the electronic wallet through service cards, which include fuel, student and social support cards. In addition to the use of the health insurance cards as an electronic wallet card, and the use of the national card as an electronic payment card. The Prime Minister revealed establishment of incentives to encourage electronic payment and telecommunications companies to provide and strengthen the infrastructure of electronic payment systems, stressing importance of enhancing the citizen's confidence in the electronic payment systems, asserting the concern with the monitoring and analysis of complaints and treatment through a call center, calling for the special treatment for the categories in the remote areas with no access to the equipment of electronic payment systems. He also called for the provision of electronic payment channels in all government units, the training of employees and the application of electronic payment in medical services, pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and service providers to provide electronic payment methods in addition to the sugar, flour, cement and food factories.
