Khartoum, August 20 (SUNA) - The Economist and Professor at the University of Gezira Prof. Mutasem Ahmed Abdal-Mawla has said that the achievement of balanced development and meeting economic challenges require realization of comprehensive peace throughout the country as well as the reconstruction of the areas devastated by war and conflict. He stressed the importance of restructuring the economy through rehabilitation of agricultural and rural development projects in the country so that there will be a reverse migration from the big cities to the countryside, referring to the necessity of establishing social services projects (educational, health, water, electricity ...etc) to suit the size of the population. Prof. Abdal-Mawla called for equitable distribution of medical, health, educational and other services facilities among the states of Sudan, urging spread of social policies and programs not only in the major cities, but to all regions.  He stressed the need to control the foreign presence in the country, and not enable foreigners to benefit from the subsidies provided to the Sudanese citizen, pointing out that fighting corruption of all kinds is a key factor to achieve growth and balanced development.
