Workshop on Legal Aid Targets IDPS and Civil Society in SDS

Nyala Nov 7 (SUNA)- Sudan Women Development Organization (SWDO) had organized a training workshop in collaboration with UNDP on legal aid and human rights targeting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at camps and the civil society as well.

 Nearly 120 persons from various IDPs camps participated in the worship.  Head of rule of law at UNDP, Mr. koster praised Nyala university staff, the lawyers and those in charge of the public prosecution who contributed in training the participants saying the workshop has achieved its objective.

He said all the participants were considered authentic members of the program for enlightening their communities. He requested the participants to deliver the information they have got to the community.

Mr. koster assures the continuity of supporting the program calling the other organizations support the program too.

Head of SWDO Majda Hasan Ali praised UNDP Rule of law department for supporting legal aid program for the needy ones at IDPs camps and rural areas, anticipating that the new stage would help empowering the needy people get their legal rights and having IDPs be repatriated to their original villages voluntarily.

 The representative of the participants Ali Musa said the workshop has opened new horizons in a new era of democracy justice and freedom and vowed to transfer the knowledge he had got to IDPs in camps and to grassroots in the rural areas.
