Council of Ministers Briefed on Outcome of PM Visit to Brussels

Khartoum, Nov.13 (SUNA) -The  Council of Ministers was briefed in its regular meeting Wednesday on  the Prime Minister’s visit to the European Union (EU) headquarters in Brussels and his meetings with the EU officials, describing the visit as widely welcomed and successful, positive and represented the important point for the return of Sudan to the international community.

The Minister of Culture and Information, Faisal Mohamed Salih, said in a press statement that Sudan delegation was warmly received by all the EU officials and held a lengthy meeting with the EU External Relations Council and discussed the government programs for the transitional period and expected support from the EU to Sudan.

He said that the EU officials expressed keenness to establish a strategic relation with Sudan, closely follow up  the situation and pledged to help Sudan return to the international community and to deal with the international finance institutions, disclosing that it was agreed that the Government of Sudan is to prepare a list of priorities in order to classify projects that could be implemented by the EU.

The Minister of Culture and Information stated that the ministers who  accompanied the Prime Minister habe held meetings with their EU counterparts and a number of organizations during which agreement were reached on implementation of some joint projects were reached, indicating that these projects would be announced in the coming  period.
