Al-Badawi: Peace Willsupport Domestic Product

Khartoum, Nov. 16 (SUNA) – The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi on Saturday stressed that the civilian transitional government gives priority to peace realization, a prelude for economic development in the country.

Al-Badawi who was addressing the inaugural session of the Conference on Sustainable and Inclusive Development in Sudan, organized by the Sudan Research Group, has pinpointed that  achieving peace will increase gross domestic product. He said the country should make use of its huge economic resources to help put in place an equitable system of social justice, a prime concern for the December Revolution.

He pointed out that the current stage requires economic reform for decreasing the inflation, reform of the civil service, removal of economic discrepancies, besides stopping deterioration of the national currency.

The Minister expressed hope that the outcome of the conference would contribute to finding solution for national economic challenges, affirming that there are great prospect for investment in Sudan.
