Minister of Industry apologizes to economic journalists for the wrong behavior of its media office

Khartoum, March 26 (SUNA) – The Minister of Industry and Trade Madani Abbas Madani has apologized to the economic journalists for what was happened to them by the Ministry’s Information Office.

The Minister announced, during his meeting Thursday with the delegation of representatives of the economic journalists, his embark on measures to guarantee the right of the media to obtain information related to his ministry, expressing his willingness to hold a meeting for the economic press to discuss together ways to deliver the information of the ministry to the media organs.


"I apologize to all journalists for what was committed by the ministry's media office against the journalists", he said, explaining that the relationship between them as an executive institution and the media must be characterized by respect and cooperation, stressing the importance of the role of the press in informing the citizen on the activities of the ministry.


Madani added that the actions, which he intended to adopt, include changing the director of media at the ministry and replacing him with another to be collaborated with the journalists in order to preserve the ministry’s position, pointing out that the conduct of the media director caused them a “feeling of guilt”, calling on journalists to continue to cooperate with the ministry in a situation of respect and appreciation.


It is to be recalled that a group of economic journalists have submitted a memo to the Minister of Industry and Trade, protesting against the ministry's media office mal-practices against them.
