Human Rights official lauds swift response to contain tribal conflict

Khartoum, Aug.14 (SUNA) – The National Commission for Human Rights, ion Friday, issued statement on the implications of incidents between Beni Amer and the Nuba tribes, in Port Sudan, the Red Sea State.

The Head of the Commission, Hurriya Ismail  said in press statement to SUNA that the incidents resulted in flagrant violations to the human rights and the basic rights of the citizens.

The human rights official lauded the quick response of the state through directing the official concerned authorities to control the incidents and carry out the necessary arrangements and to support maintaining security and stability in the state.

She called on all the parties to restore to wisdom and enforcing of law to overcome disputes to protect the rights and to maintain peaceful co-existence, urging the judiciary bodies to bring the perpetrators to fair trial.
