Khartoum, Jan. 25 (SUNA) – Sudan, represented by the acting Charge d'Affaires at Sudan Embassy in Cairo and Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Al-Saddiq Omer Abdulla, will participate in the 54th edition of the Cairo International Book Exhibition, which will be kicked off on Wednesday morning at Egypt International Exhibitions Center during January 25 - February 6.

Sudan's participation in this cultural event stems from its importance as a platform for exchanging ideas, skills and knowledge and raising public awareness on various issues.

The Sudan pavilion includes a selection of history, novels and poetry books.

Many Sudanese publishing houses are set to partake in the exhibition with hundreds of titles specially prepared for this session.

The Egypt’s Prime Minister will attend the opening activities as the guest of honor with participation of other senior statesmen.

It is worth noting that the current edition of the exhibition witnesses the selection of the late Egyptian poet Salah Jahain as a guest of honor and personality for the exhibition , while the Egyptian writer Kamel Kilani, who has pioneered children’s literature across the Arab World, is the personality of the year at the children’s exhibition.
