Khartoum, March.2 (SUNA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk has lauded the great efforts and the high level of coordination between the joint teams of the Federal Ministry of Health and the UNICEF to secure the delivery of the 28,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, as the first batch, out of 3, 400,000 doses which expected to arrive in the country tomorrow, Wednesday.

This came when Dr. Hamdouk met, at his office, the UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Hanan Omar Suleiman and the organizations, Country Representative in Sudan, Abdalla Al-Fadil in the presence of the Cabinet Affairs Minister, Engineer, Khaled Omar and Health Minister, Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Najeeb.

Hamdouk has directed the concerned circles to start the arrangements for the vaccination process to all the targeted groups as soon as possible after the arrival of the vaccine according to the Matrix of groups most vulnerable to infection with the virus from the medical and health staff, the elderly, and others.

With the arrival of the vaccine, Sudan becomes the first country in the eastern Mediterranean region and the third country on the continent to be reached by the vaccine
