Kosti, March 16 (SUNA) - White Nile State hosted today in Kosti a workshop on the effects of the second filling of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on Sudan, with the participation of a delegation from the federal Ministry of Irrigation, headed by Director of Dams Department Eng. Mutasim Al-Awad and in the presence of Director General of the Ministry of Production in the state Eng. Al-Samha Ahmed Abdel-Karim.

The Director General of the Ministry of Production in the White Nile State, addressing the workshop, stressed the importance of enlightening citizens about the implications of the second filling of the Renaissance Dam on Sudan and the precautions and measures taken by the Ministry of Irrigation to address the expected effects of filling the dam in the fields of, among others, drinking water, agriculture and electricity.

For their part, water experts from the Federal Ministry of Irrigation reviewed the implications of filling the Renaissance Dam next July.

The speakers reviewed the precautions and measures taken by the Ministry of Irrigation after conducting careful scientific studies to reduce losses in the areas of drinking water, electricity generation and agricultural production.
