
Khartoum, Mar. 17 (SUNA – The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Wednesday morning paid an inspection visit to the Defence Industries System facilities in Yarmouk Industrial Complex, where he was received by the Minister of Defence, Gen. Yassin Ibrahim Yassin.
In a press conference after the visit, the Minister of Information and government spokesperson, Hamza Al-Ballol, said that the Defence Industries System had submitted a proposal to divide the system into two directions, a direction concerned with the development of defence industries, and a direction for the development of civil industries, as well as the agreement to establish two councils, a council for economic development to be headed by a Minister Industry to supervise the civil industries of the system, and a finance and investment council to be headed by the Minister of Finance observe the gradual transformation of the civil system into public shareholding companies.
Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, has pointed to a possibility to benefit from the capabilities of the system in strategic projects such as the development of the petroleum sector, the railways, agriculture and the manufacturing spare-parts for the sugar companies.
The prime minister was accompanied during the visit by the Ministers of Cabinet Affairs, Information, Energy, Finance, Animal Resources, Justice, Social Development, Youth and Sports, Interior, Higher Education and Communications.
