Khartoum, April 24 (SUNA) - The Darfur Lawyers Association has mourned the Chadian President, Idriss Deby, who was killed in recent events in Chad.

Darfur Lawyers Association pointed out that the late Chadian president has contributed to the combating of extremism in the countries of the Sahel and the Lake Chad, and also transferred his country to a constitution that represented a shift in the political practice in Chad through the adoption of pluralism, the establishment of parties and giving large spaces for the opinion and the other opinion in the audiovisual and readable media.

The statement indicated that the Republic of Chad is hosting more than 370,000 Sudanese refugees from Darfur region due to the wars, according to international reports, adding that the Sudanese refugees in Chad have found refuge and shelter.

The association wished mercy for the late president of Chad, expressing hope that the Chadian people will enjoy peace, unity and stability and will resort to the peaceful means in the practicing of power.
