Juba, June 7 (SUNA) – The Cabinet Affair Minister and spokesman of the government delegation for the negotiations in Juba with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (PLM) – North, led by Abdul-Aziz Al-Hillu, Khalid Omer Yousif, said that the two parties have continued the negotiations in the framework project.

He pointed in a press statement after the negotiation sitting that lasted for more than seven hours at Palm Africa Hotel to a limited progress which was achieved in a number of issues, referring to formation of joint committees to discuss the remaining issues and to find the suitable options to solve them.

He explained that the direct negotiation sitting between the government delegation and the SPLM –North delegation will continue on Tuesday with a sitting starting at 02:00 p.m., reiterating the keenness of the negotiating parties to deal with the remaining issues.

"The spirit of the glorious December revolution and the struggles of the displaced and those who lost their lives as a result of the war are what make us move forward with determination to reach a comprehensive and just solution that contributes to a final stopping of war in Sudan," he stressed.

On his part, the spokesman of the SPLM – North, Kuku Mohamed Jagdoul, indicated that the mediation has formed joint committees to discuss issues that the two parties did not achieve an agreement on.

He affirmed seriousness and optimism of the two sides in the negotiations and their optimism to cover the controversial issues in Tuesday sitting.
