Port-Sudan, June 9 (SUNA) – A US ship carrying 48,000 tons of wheat out of a total of 300,000 tons, arrived in Port-Sudan Wednesday morning, while other aid ships will arrive successively until the end of the current year.
The ship was received by the Minister of Industry, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, the First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Rashid Saeed, the Wali (governor) of the Red Sea State, Abdalla Shingray along with representatives of the Ministries of Trade and Finance, the Agricultural and Seen Company.
The Minister of Industry said at the press conference he held in front of the ship in the big celebration that the arrival of the American ship affirms Sudan return to the international community and represents a clear evidence of the return and normalization of the relations between the two countries, indicating that Sudan doors are now open to all the world, especially the Arab and European countries.
He stated that Sudan is now making advanced steps in the era of freedom and is expected to benefit from its natural and investment resources, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the United States’ government and people for their stand in supporting the transitional government through the model presented by the great December revolution in bringing about change and democratic transformation.
