Khartoum June 24(SUNA)- Coordinator General for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) Program in Sudan Prof. Sayeda Khalil has revealed that the program received US$8.8 million from the World Bank to implement reducing of emissions program in Sudan.

 She told reporters today that the fund should be used to implement the first stage of the program which is due to be finalized.  

However she said the program faces overcutting of trees in Darfur and kordofan areas.
