Khartoum, Aug. 11 (SUNA) – The First Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, received in his office Wednesday the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Asad Ahmad Khan, and affirmed Sudan readiness to cooperate with the International Criminal Court.
He stressed the importance of achieving justice as one of the main pillars upon which the December revolution was based, Daglo indicated that the Juba agreement for peace in Sudan approved the appearance of the wanted persons before the Criminal Court, pointing out that it is up to the judicial authorities to decide on the method of their trial.
The ICC Prosecutor General has briefed the First Vice – President of the International Criminal Court on the outcome of his meetings with the Sudanese officials, affirming the importance of cooperation between Sudan and the International Criminal Court.
He said that the court relies on Sudan to make progress on issues related to the appearance of the wanted persons.
He revealed that a team from the court will visit Sudan in the next month to collect evidence related to the case of Ali Kosheib, calling for facilities to help the team perform its tasks.
