
Khartoum, Sept. 18 (SUNA) - Sudan will participate in the 14th session of the International Sama’a (listening) Festival for Chanting and Spiritual Music, which is to be launched this evening in Cairo under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and a number of the relevant.
The festival will continue until September 24, under the motto "A message of peace to the world."
The Sudan will participate in the festival by the two bands of the Dongola Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage, and the Sea’s Echoes.
The Dongola Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage will participate on Sunday in Al-Hanager Square in the Opera, on Monday in Bait Al-Sinari House in Sayeda Zeinab, and on Wednesday it will participate in Youssef's Bier “Well” in the Ga’ala “Citadel”.
The head of head of the association, Mr. Mohamed Awad, noted that the band has been making foreign participations in Egypt, especially in the Drums Festival and the Sama’a Festival.
33 bands will participate in the festival, including Egyptian bands, bands from foreign embassies in Egypt, with participation of Jordan, Romania, France, Greece, Spain, Indonesia, Serbia, Bangladesh, South Sudan, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, while Jordan will be the general guest of honor of the festival.
The festival which targets the revival of the art of listening in its various forms; the Islamic , Coptic heritage and the church heritage, as well as spreading the culture of dialogue and human communication between the cultures and emphasizing the essence of religions’ (love - tolerance - peace) values.
