Khartoum 24-9-2021 (SUNA) - The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk has received today’s afternoon a phone call from Jack Sullivan, the US’s President National Security Advisor.
Sullivan has expressed to the Prime Minister the firm commitment of the US President's administration to support the civilian-led democratic transition in the country, and the US administration's strong and decisive stance against any attempts to obstruct or disrupt the will of the Sudanese people to achieve the slogans of freedom, peace and justice.
Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, and the US’s President National Security Advisor Mr. Sullivan, agreed on the need for all parties to abide by the Constitutional Document, the Political Agreement and the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, and the need for the government to continue to take measures that would enhance and deepen economic stability, continue to implement the security arrangements clause, complete the peace process, and ensure the implementation of justice and accountability.
They also agreed that the transitional government has come a long way towards achieving important historical gains for the Sudanese people at various levels, in addition to the normalization with the international community and the international development community, and that any attempt to cut that progress and development from any side will be decisively confronted by the Sudanese people and the international community. .
Mr. Sullivan conveyed to the Prime Minister the US President Joe Biden's aspiration to meet with him in the near future.
The phone call from Jack Sullivan, the US’s President National Security Advisor to Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk has also discussed developments and conditions in the region, where Mr. Sullivan indicated that the US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Jeffrey Feltman, will visit Sudan next week to affirm US support for the civilian-led transition process and discuss regional security challenges.
