Khartoum, Sep. 29 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, received Wednesday at the Republican Palace the visiting the visiting American delegation, headed by the acting Assistant US Secretary of State, Bryan Hunt, and affirmed the council’s keenness for success of the partnership to achieve a secure and smooth transition that leads to an elected civilian rule.
The meeting reviewed a number of issues related to the democratic transition in Sudan, in addition to the developments in east Sudan.
Gen. Kabbashi has pointed to the efforts being exerted by the transitional government to achieve an urgent and effective solution for east Sudan issue.
On the current political situation in Sudan, Gen. Kabbashi affirmed the keenness to creating a good environment for dialogue to surpass the current state of tension and to overcome differences in a way that supports the partnership and the safe political transition.
The American side affirmed at the meeting the United States support to continuation of the partnership and success of the democratic transformation.
