Khartoum 10-6-2021 (SUNA) – Sudan rexceived the first shipment of over half a million doses of (Pfizer) vaccine as a donation from the United States government via the COVAX facility..
The delivery was attended by Dr. Yusra. Muhammad Osman, Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Brian Shawkan, the American Chargé Affairs in Sudan and UNICEF representative.

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Yousra Muhammad Osman said that the vaccine is of special importance in the need for a high cooling chain, and that the ministry worked on importing a cooling chain that was installed in the central warehouse for vaccines in the expanded immunization program.
She indicated that the Pfizer vaccine reduces the risk of infection, especially for people with chronic diseases, indicating that the vaccine will be available through primary health centers in the capital and the states.
The UNICEF Representative, Marie-Louis said that the organization is working closely with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Kovacs platform to install and rehabilitate the super-cooled chains correctly, adding that these five units were successfully tested in the last week of September before operation by experts.
