Nyala,Oct.7(SUNA)- Sudan News Agency (SUNA) inaugurated, on Wednesday installation of Television Unit Service (TVU) at its office in Nayala the capital of South Darfur state .
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Acting Wali (governor) of South Darfur State Hamid Al-Tigani Hanon, Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information Al-Rashid Saeed and SUNA General Director Mohamed Abduhamid.
The Acting Wali described TVU inauguration in the state as great achievement in media service ,adding that it would reflect social activities in the state.
He Hanoun affirmed that the State’s government would support SUNA office in Nyala.
Thwe Governor outlined that the new media encourages public participation in civilian democracy transition process. Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information Al-Rashid Saeed commended the development SUNA witnessed during the two past years despite scarcity of resources.
Saeed called on the state’s government to support SUNA through providing facilities and information access, particularly the civil society activities.
He stressed the importance of media coverage to activities at Nayala forums in order to reflect the culture and community movements inside and outside Sudan.
SUNA General Director , Mohammed Abdulhamid ,on his part, pointed out that the TVU modern transmission systems installed in SUNA office would contribute to live transmission on social and cultural activities in the state, besides playing a role in democratic transition.
