Kosti Oct.12(SUNA)-The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS), the White Nile State affiliate,  will celebrate  tomorrow (13October, 2021) the  International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction which would be held this year under the theme “ Boosting  International Cooperation for Development of the Developing Countries.”

The SRCS executive Officer in  the White Nile, Yasser Khidir, said in a statement to SUNA that  the celebration aims to fulfill three key goals  representing in  determining the real size of the disaster, fixing it in conception of all and  soliciting  the necessary support for reconstruction

The SRCS Executive Officer  disclosed that the While Nile State  has seen during the past period  natural and man-made disasters  as in  Al Megainis area  in which conflicts displaced  over 30,000 and the flooding  damaged houses and led to  displacement  of more than  70,000 people at Goda area.

He added that the Society aims from this celebration to mobilize efforts of the local and international communities  to provide aid to  the White Nile State, commending endeavors of the government of the White Nile State  and its  cooperation with the organizations and voluntary societies operating in the State.
