Khartoum, Oct. 23 (SUNA) - The Minister of Culture and Information, Hamza Balloul, with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, inaugurated Friday the 16th session of Khartoum International Book Fair, which will continue to receive its visitors until the first of next November.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister said that reading is the best way to accomplish the tasks of the transition in the country, noting that awareness gained thanks to reading is the real safety valve for achieving democratic transition, completing the transitional period and realizing its goals.

The minister called for honoring the Sudanese woman, who always deserves to be honored, and specified that she be honored in this session of the fair, in the person of "Bit Qaddal Mohamed" in recognition of her contributions.

Balloul affirmed his quest to work on reviving the National Library and taking care of it, expressing appreciation to all Arab and foreign publishing houses that participate in the exhibition's activities. as well as the participation of diplomats and ambassadors.
