Khartoum, Nov. 16 (SUNA) - The court trying the plotters of June 1989 coup continued its sessions today, chaired by Supreme Court Judge Hon. Hussein Al-Jak.

The court heard requests presented by the defense team, including allowing them to meet the defendants to obtain necessary information about the case.

The defense team also pleaded that the case against the defendants be dismissed or that they be released on bail.

The defense team also requested the court to register a reservation about repeated absence of the prosecution committee, saying that the absence of the prosecution affects the course of justice and the rights of the defendants.

The presiding judge said that the absence of the prosecution panel was justified according to the affidavit received, which was read out at the beginning of the session.

The judge explained that the court decided to hold another session and to address the Public Prosecution for assigning an alternative prosecution panel if the attendance of the current prosecution was not possible.

The court decided to adjourn the trial to a session to be held on November 30.
