Dubai, Dec. 5 (SUNA) - The representative of the Ministry of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakheet, has said that Sudan's pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020 provided great opportunities for youth innovations, indicating that it would contribute to advancing national production. Bakheet, who was speaking to SUNA at Sudan's pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020 yesterday, said that his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) came in response to an invitation from the Minister of Social Development of the sisterly UAE, to participate in the celebrations of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

 He pointed to participation of 5 youth electronic innovation projects in the Sudan pavilion in the exhibition, under the auspices of the Ministry, including an electronic stick for blind people and electronic chairs for the disabled.

Bakheet explained that the Ministry of Social Development is in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding with its UAE counterpart to support projects for the persons with disabilities and combat poverty, in accordance with the state's social protection strategy (2022).  For her part, the Commissioner-General of the Sudan Pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020, Nabawiya Mohamed Mahjoub, welcomed the visit of the representative of the Ministry of Social Development to the Pavilion and his support for innovative youth at the innovations department.
