Al-Fashir, Jan. 10 (SUNA) - The procedures for implementing the security arrangements stipulated by the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan were launched here today, under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Lieutenant-General Khaled Abdeen Al-Shami.

In a press statement, Lieutenant General Al-Shami said that implementation of the security arrangements of Juba Peace Agreement had begun today with the procedures for absorbing the forces of the armed struggle movements in Darfur into the joint security force with special tasks in Darfur, in implementation of the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, which stipulated the establishment of the force to restore security and stability in Darfur and maintain the rule of law.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Abdul-Hakim Ali Nabri, head of the government side in the Security Arrangements Committee, described implementation of the security arrangements for Juba Agreement on Peace in Sudan as a historic event, in terms of training and integrating the forces of armed struggle movements in Darfur into the regular forces would represent a qualitative addition to the security system in Sudan as a whole, indicating that the procedures have started with the forces of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement and will be followed by other movements in the coming days.
