Riyadh, Jan 18 (SUNA- Agencies) - The Saudi capital, Riyadh, hosts today, Tuesday, the Friends of Sudan Conference to support the role of the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) for dialogue between the Sudanese parties.

The European group, represented by Britain, France, Norway and Sweden as well as the United States of America, besides the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the United Arab Emirates, will participate in the conference, along with ambassadors of European countries in Khartoum.

The one-day conference will be attended by the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Molly Phee, and the US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, David Satterfield. 

The conference will discuss support to end the state of political tension in Sudan, boost the democratic process, and find common ground for dialogue between the political components.
