Kassala, Jan.19(SUNA)-The Acting Wali (governor) of Kassala State, Khojali Hamad Abdalla has underlined the State government concern with cementing relations of cooperation and coordination with UN organizations and agencies operating in the State.
This came when the Wali of the State chaired today the first coordinating meeting with the UN organizations and agencies with purpose of deliberating over plans and programs of the organizations and agencies for the current year .
The Acting Wali presented a full briefing about the humanitarian situations in the State which related to presence of refugees and the security threats and impact of presence of refugees on provision of services.
He called the UN organizations and agencies to stand by the State and contribute to bridge the expected food gap, particularly in the northern localities of the State in accordance to the allowed interventions.
Representatives of the organizations and agencies presented reports about activities and programs being implemented ,the targeting areas and the selected communities including programs related to refugees and their camps and the host communities.
The meeting affirmed importance of tightening coordination between the organizations and their partners from the government institutions.
