Khartoum, May 5 (SUNA) – The Sudanese Accord Alliance signed today at the premises of the African Centre for Governance, Peace and Democratic Transition Studies in Khartoum the consensus document to manage the transitional period, in the presence of a number of leaders of political parties and blocs.

Head of the Sudanese Accord Alliance Dr. Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Sufi said in a statement to SUNA after signing the Consensus Document that the most important thing that distinguishes Document from others is that it seeks to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people, especially the youth, in addition to calling for the need to achieve peace during the transitional period and openness to the world besides utilization of human and material resources for the benefit of the country, calling for the importance of uniting efforts to benefit from the glorious December Revolution and bring about real change.

Al-Sufi stressed that establishment of security, political stability, freedom, democracy and love of others are the most important requirements of this transitional period.

For his part, head of the African Centre for Governance, Peace and Democratic Transition Studies Dr. Mahmoud Zain-Albidin Mahmoud explained that with the signing of the consensus document by the Sudanese Accord Alliance today, the number of political and societal parties, civil society organizations and national figures who signed the consensus document reached eighty.

He stressed that the Consensus Document diagnoses the Sudanese problem and works to solve the country's current crisis.
