Khartoum, May 23 (SUNA) - Sudan and Algeria agreed on the importance to remove obstacles that stand in the way of increasing the trade exchange and investment between the two countries.
The agreement was reached during a meeting of the joint Sudanese – Algerian Political Consultation Committee, which was held on May 22-23 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Algiers, in which the Sudanese side was headed by the Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Al-Mansour Ibrahim Boulad, while the Algerian side was headed by the Director General of Arab Countries at the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Noureddine Khandoudi.
The wo sides also agreed to intensify the cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, livestock, higher education, scientific research and pharmaceutical industries.
The two sides exchanged visions on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and shared identical visions on many of these issues that the region and the world are witnessing.
The two sides stressed the importance of holding the fourth session of the joint ministerial committee after the Arab summit to be held in Algeria next November, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, in order to enhance bilateral cooperation between them in all fields.
The Algerian side also promised to provide training opportunities for a number of young diplomats at the Institute of Diplomatic and International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad.
The two sides praised the spirit of brotherhood and frankness that prevailed in the meetings, which honestly reflected the firmness of the existing relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Al-Mansour Ibrahim Boulad and his accompanying delegation met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Chakib Rachid Qayed, who praised the historical and fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and called for intensified work to promote to higher levels the bilateral relations and affirmed the keenness on consultation and coordination between the Sudan and Algeria in all fields.
