Khartoum, May 24(SUNA) – The Chinese-African workshop on parliamentary capacity building for young African parliamentarians is underway virtually. 

The ongoing workshop on parliamentary capacity building for young African parliamentarians is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, co-organized by the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce. 

The workshop was launched on 13 May.

H.E. Zhang Maoyu, the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee of the CPPCC, said China and African countries are always good friends and China wants to facilitate work with the young African officials in the context of bonding the relations.

This workshop reflects China and Africa, at the new starting point, working together to implement the China–Africa Cooperation Vision 2035, which is significant to promote in-depth South-South cooperation and the connection of the development of different countries, according to Sun Zhonghe, the president of AIBO, MOFCOM.

He hopes that officials attending this workshop can exchange views, share experiences, and move forward in tandem.

Officials from various African countries participated by sharing comments and ideas. 

Chinese senior officials, including heads and members of relevant special committees of the National Committee of the CPPCC, former ambassadors, and experts from relative sectors were invited to discuss with African officials. 

Discussion topics include China’s political party system, reform and opening up, poverty reduction, and public health systems. 

It’s worth mentioning that the workshop ends on 26 May.
