El Geneina May 26 (SUNA) – The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Khurdiata Lou Ndiaye, has renewed the commitment of the humanitarian partners to support people displaced by the events in parts of Kerinak and El Geneina in West Darfur state.

The Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, after her visit and the accompanying delegation to West Darfur, said in a statement, "The humanitarian partners will continue to provide humanitarian aid and support thousands of people who have been displaced due to the events and instability in parts of West Darfur during the past few weeks."

The Humanitarian Coordinator, accompanied by the heads of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Norwegian Council, and representatives of the World Food Program and Relief Services, visited a gathering site hosting people displaced by the events in Krink.

UN agencies and humanitarian partners continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the affected IDPs from Karenik and other areas of West Darfur.
