Khartoum, June 3 (SUNA) Hundreds of demonstrators rushed to the streets in Khartoum and a number of states in commemoration of the June 3rd anniversary of the dispersal of the sit-in.
The demonstration was preceded by a consultative meeting yesterday at the palace that included the Military Committee headed by the Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and the membership of the two council members, Lieutenant-General Shams Al-Din Kabbashi and Lieutenant-General Bahri Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, and the tripartite mechanism for the Sudanese dialogue, facilitated by the United Nations, the African Union and the IGAD countries.
The meeting was attended by the Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Head of the Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), Volker Peters, the representative of the African Union in Khartoum, Ambassador Mohamed Belaishe, and IGAD Envoy Ismail Weiss and Gad in the context of discussing the scheduled for dialogue next week to arrange the conditions of governance in the country.
The security authorities announced yesterday the closure of all bridges today, Friday, except for the Soba and Halfaya bridges, as part of the measures taken by the authorities to maintain the security and safety of the citizens of Khartoum State, to preserve their property, and in anticipation of possible acts that disturb security and public safety during the processions.
The security authorities had mercy on the martyrs of the Sudanese revolution.
